Joan Baez還有一首「Diamonds and rust」，已成了她的代表作，對男女分手後重逢的心情描述，十分深刻：濃情密意時有如鑽石般的美麗與閃耀，分手後卻如同鐵鏽般的腐蝕！據說這首歌是Joan Baez在描寫她與Bob Dylan的過往戀情，歌詞非常深情與寫實，可以看出她對舊愛的崇拜與付出，非常的感人！

我一直認為這段歌詞應該是：

我總覺得這這樣的歌詞比較符合前後文（因為有說到My poetry was
lousy, you said），但是網路查了很多，都是用cuff links這個字，不知是否另有隱喻，否則實在有點不服！

非常好聽的一首歌。在此我們也可以了解這這位歌手的物理是不及格的，『光年』是距離的單位，不是時間的單位（如果ago改為away又不押韻）。
雖然是「鑽石與鐵鏽」，但只要當時是真誠的，那愛是永遠不用說抱歉的！不是嗎？
