悲傷的旋律 I - Dust in the wind

K歌情人(Music and Lyrics)這部電影中，女主角(茱兒·芭莉摩Drew Barrymore)說旋律是外表，歌詞才是靈魂。對此，我無法同意更多了。許多英文歌曲，就算不管歌詞維和，旋律還真是好聽，也常會被當成純音樂來演奏，百聽不厭。當年的懷念老歌中，旋律聽來就很悲悽的，有一首我這個世代大都耳熟能詳的歌曲：「Dust in the wind」，在歌詞不容易取得的年代，大致只能聽懂歌詞中的Dust in the wind這句，只這句歌詞影響力就很大了！在對未來徬徨不安，還在思索存在意義的年歲裡，這句歌詞實在聽來真讓人灰心，一切都有如風裡的灰塵，那努力有何用呢？青燈古佛前，又多了些蕭瑟的身影。

這首歌在不識愁之味的年少時代，聽來是很有強說愁的感覺。但年紀一長，就會覺得歌詞未免過於說教、過於自怨自艾了，感覺反倒沒這麼強烈了！

現在想想，這首歌拿來當佛教學校的校歌，好像還蠻合適的。
